Our standards
Review standards & verification
We publish reviews from real Florida homeowners about real installs. Here's how we keep that promise.
Who can submit a review
We accept reviews from anyone who paid for a hurricane shutter or impact window install on a Florida residential property. Renters describing a unit owner's install are welcome if they have direct experience with the product through a storm event.
What we verify
For any review marked Verified install, we have reviewed at least one of: a copy of the installation permit, the contractor's signed invoice, or product NOA/FL approval documentation showing the address and product matches the review. We do not publish full addresses or any document containing personal information.
What we do not do
We do not accept payment for placement, ranking, or removal of reviews. We do not allow contractors or manufacturers to respond directly within review text — disputes are handled by email and, if substantiated, summarized in an editor's note appended to the review.
How we handle negative reviews
We publish negative reviews when they are factual, specific, and the contractor has been given at least 14 days to respond. We will not publish reviews that name individual employees, allege criminal conduct without documentation, or use slurs.
Edits and corrections
Homeowners can request updates to their own reviews at any time. We append edits with a dated note rather than silently rewriting. If we make an error in framing or summary, we correct it transparently.
Conflict of interest
The editors of this site do not own, work for, or take referral fees from any Florida shutter or impact-window contractor. If that ever changes, we'll disclose it on this page before it affects anything else.
